Jakartass would like to congratulate Olga Liashchuk for recording the fastest time to crush three watermelons with her thighs as recorded in the book of Guinness World Records 2016.
However, that was published in September last year (2015 in case you’ve forgotten).
This past week has seen the publication of Guinness World Records 2017, and there are a few pics on the official site, but none as ‘artistic’ as the one I’ve chosen above.
Would you really like to know the longest distance of a pea projected by a nasal snort? Or which elementary school choir holds the record for the fastest performance of the Sound Of Music?
No, neither would I, and I really can’t be bothered to watch a video of the Top 100 records of last year (i.e.2016). Mind you, there is a certain fascination in learning about dumb record attempts which resulted in death – check out the helium balloon one.
BTW. Indonesia can claim one world record. The world’s oldest man is, he says, Mbah Gotho aged 145.who lives in Sragen in Central Java. Staff at the Indonesian records office have confirmed his birth date, which is specified on his Indonesian ID card as 31st December 1870.
