The newly described frog L. Larvaepartus – male (left) and female – from the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. This little amphibian is the world’s only frog that gives birth to tadpoles, eschewing the common froggy practice of laying eggs.
For my first Image of the Week this new year, this photo is a reminder that there is still much to discover about Indonesia’s natural environment.
