Global warming has affected the movement of the west-east air current which encircles the northern hemisphere. It is now popularly known as the polar vortex. That is the reason for cold Arctic air drifting southwards last week bringing sub-zero temperatures to all 50 American States.
I may have chosen to live in a hot country, but I have a smigeon of nostalgia for crisp cold days which produce such images.
